I just want to remember, because I saw the recent review on the fan is defective, I got my 1410 and today is pretty loud hum of the fan. Replacement is on its way. I've been involved with the problems of defective trackpad on the new Mini Toshiba (Toshiba has recognized the problems related to manufacturing processes, so it's back) and hopefully we will not have a problem here, too MFG. Everything else on the 1410 seemed incredible, beautiful screen and keyboard. Building is a bit 'plasticky than the Toshiba, and the trackpad is significantly smaller, but the blows everything else out of the other netbooks, and is about the same size and weight. Amazing! I'll post more when replacing.

Just got this laptop, rather than on using SW. Subsequently, a further review be done on performance.

Did you know that these ships with a 12-cell, as announced, but is larger and protrudes at the bottom of the laptop, so that the combination of laptop + battery more than the advertised size and weight. The size and shape of the battery make it very difficult in my bag. I called HP and they told me that this is the default configuration, and that I buy a 6-cell battery, if I that was the bottom of the laptop to the wire.

Second day with the Acer AS 1410:
